2010-11 Howard School Improvement Goals

These goals were decided upon by committee which meet for a data retreat in October. The data reviewed was from the 2010 Dakota Step Test results for grades 3-9 and 11.

Math and Reading Standards selected for improvment:

A. Elementary Math Goal
The elementary will increase the number of students who are proficient and advanced on Math Geometry Indicator 2: Use Properties of geometric figures to solve problems from a variety of perspectives. This will be measured by the individual standard analysis of the Dakota Step Test.

B. JH Math Goal:

The JH will increase the number of students who are proficient and advanced on Math Number Sense Indicator 2: Apply number operations with real numbers and other number systems. This will be measured by the individual standard analysis of the Dakota Step Test.

C. HS Math Goal:

The HS will increase the number of students who are proficient and advanced on Math Number Sense Indicator 2: Apply number operations with real numbers and other number systems. This will be measured by the individual standard analysis of the Dakota Step Test.

D. Elementary Reading Goal:
The elementary will increase the number of students who are proficient and advanced on Reading standard Indicator 3:Students can apply knowledge of text structures, literary devices, and literary elements to develop interpretations and form responses. This will be measured by the individual standard analysis of the Dakota Step Test.

E. JH Reading Goal:

The JH will increase the number of students who are proficient and advanced on Reading standard: Indicator 5: Students can access, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate informational texts. This will be measured by the individual standard analysis of the Dakota Step Test.

F. HS Reading Goal:
The HS will increase the number of students who are proficient and advanced on Reading standard 5: Indicator 5: Students can access, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate informational texts. This will be measured by the individual standard analysis of the Dakota Step Test.
